Here is another thrilling 4-day adventure in Perak, Malaysia, as we explore the charming towns of Taiping and Ipoh. During my stay in Perak, I explored the rich historical towns, stunning natural landscapes, and delicious local cuisine that this region has to offer. Follow my carefully curated 4-day Itinerary of Perak to make the most out of your trip!

Day 1: Arrival in Taiping

On the first day of your adventure, you will arrive in Taiping, a charming town located in Perak, Malaysia. Taiping is known for its beautiful colonial architecture, serene lake gardens, and rich history. The laid-back and relaxed feel of Taiping makes it a great location for a family holiday away from the hustle and bustle of big cities like Kuala Lumpur. The bus trip from Kuala Lumpur to Taiping was RM 30 and the travel time is approximately 3 hours.

Once you arrive, check into your hotel and take some time to relax and freshen up. In the evening, take a stroll along the Taiping Lake Gardens, a peaceful oasis in the heart of the town. Enjoy the scenic views and watch the sunset over the lake. Raintree provides shade and beauty at the Lake Gardens. These trees have become the landmarks of Taiping.

For dinner, head to the Taiping Hawker Center and indulge in a variety of local delicacies. Try the famous Taiping Char Kway Teow, a stir-fried noodle dish, or the Taiping Rojak, a fruit and vegetable salad with a tangy sauce. After dinner, you can explore the lively night market and shop for souvenirs.

The Perak Royal Museum is a must-visit attraction in Taiping, Malaysia. Next, visit the iconic Ipoh Railway Station, also known as the Taj Mahal of Ipoh. Marvel at the stunning Moorish architecture and snap some photos in front of the beautifully preserved building.

For lunch, head to the Ipoh Lou Wong Bean Sprout Chicken, a famous restaurant that serves the best Ipoh-style chicken and bean sprouts. Don't forget to try the Ipoh White Coffee, a local specialty. Nasi Ayam (rice and chicken) is a popular street food of Ipoh. Other popular dishes of Ipoh include Salted Chicken, Chee Cheong Fun, Tau Fu Fah, and Hakka Mee.
